Thanks to our seemingly tireless Parksville Lions Club and a $65,597 contribution from the federal government we can look forward to the installation of an outdoor GreenGym to be located beside the Lions Club’s very popular Ventureland Playground in Community Park.
The GreenGym will consist of nine pieces of equipment – will include 14 stations and provide 56 different exercises. Although it is a “seniors fitness” package, it will be suitable for all ages.
“Parksville Community Park borders on one of the most beautiful warm water beaches in the world. It is not only a big attraction for local residents but a big drawing card for the tourist population.
MP James Lunney attended the Park on Monday where he made the announcement. “…this will contribute to the quality of life for residents and tourists alike, while creating expanded economic opportunity for years to come”.
Installation will take place in April or May, as soon as weather allows.
